If I Woke Up A Republican

I foresaw emails asking for a clean copy of the little interlude in this week's podcast, so here it is for everyone, and here are the lyrics.

If I Woke Up A Republican

Well if I woke up a Republican
I'd go Democrat as fast as I can

And I would
Cut out my tongue
Cause I can't stand the lies anymore

And I would
Make myself a big long list
Of the countries and and the land
And the people I've dissed

And I'd
Poke out my eyes
And hand them both over
And hope maybe then I could
See them as brothers

If I woke up a Republican

And my left hand, hate,
Would offend me
I'd chop it off
Like an enemy

And and my right hand, war
Chop it off
Expel it from my land
Send it off

And I'd cut off my left foot, lies
It's been spreading my hate on the countryside
It has no problem with genocide so chuck it

And I'd chop off my right foot, fear
It lowers IQ when it is near
Why should I spread my fear for free
When the devil gets paid and laughs at me?

Just because I'm a Republican

And I would bust my knees
Diving to the ground
Saying please God
With my head held down

Saying here I am
Sorry and lame
Forgive me for the people
I've killed In Your Name

When I was a Republican

This was not a waste of time. This is brilliant. Can you do more of this? You're brilliant. The melody, the rhythm: it's wonderful. I hope you can waste a few more days coming up with songs like this. If you can keep the content and quality of the melody on this level you might have something good enough to sell. At least a younger generation might listen to thoughtful music, unlike how it became so stupid and lover-oriented in the 70s. Rage Against the Machine broke up and for some reason have never regrouped. There is demand for them and their kind of sentiments. Forget MC pro-war Hammer. Jeff rocks! or raps...

Wow! This song and the podcast that went with it have gone with no comment for a painfully long time. Thanks for making it worth the wait.

The funny thing is, I actually sang it at first but didn't like how I sounded so I autotuned it to make it monotone. I did have something planned for this week. I only hope I can pull it off!
