Dem Circular Firing Squad/GOP Southern Strategy

Here, I ramble on about misguided Democrats who think they can make things better by not voting for the Democrat. I also discuss the Republican tendency to demonize the poor and minorities. You can read about the Southern Strategy at Salon.

Jeff I just disagree with your conclusion. You feel that democrats move to the right because they feel the country is moving right.... I will debate this with you when you have a chance. You have my skype and facebook let me know.
I'll be glad to debate you on this, but I'm headed to work, three straight 14 hour shifts. I can debate you Sunday or Monday. I will say that probably a better way to put it though is that the Democrats behave in the way they think the masses will react to, and if the masses are believing Republican bullshit, that means blend in.
Yep, I have an adage: Look at how Republicans are approaching an election, and it tells you what the "white" electorate is thinking. The rush to "coronate" a "liberal" like Mitt Romney tells me of coordination with the Left. His record as governor of "Taxachussetts" is a signal from the GOP to liberals, especially the ones wandering the streets in a "movement" that's really a "sit down strike" (ala the "Arab Spring" that took place in Egypt). :Help us get this n4&&47 out of the White House and we'll allow the government to start working again." Look at the coordination: Within mere weeks of the President taking office, a group that just happens to be 99.5% "white," shows up claiming no party affiliation, shows up in Washington in protest against this President for things he inherited. Not notice, none of their vitriol was directed at anyone in the 99% "white" House and Senate. Now another group that's 99.5% "white," shows up as a "bookend" of protest, claiming no party affiliation, shows up in Washington in protest against this President, with demands that couldn't be attained if you gave them three lifetimes to do it. They also strangely refuse to hold elected Democratic officials who helped George W. Bush trample our rights.
The sad thing is that it's become common place to give the benefit of the doubt to political evil
Be careful about branding what's happening with the GOP as a, "circular firing squad" I actually see order in what they are doing. To wit: The "attack" on Bain capital was launch to HELP Romney, not hurt him. The more you talk about Bain:
1. You're only animating the folks who were already inclined to vote for you.
2. Any debate that allows the GOP to go to their standard, "apples-to-apples equating (personal) business success to government success ("gov't jobs don't count") is a political loser. The only people who disagree with the "destructive" nature of the forces of Capitalism are/were either in unions, or are activists who've supported unions for years. Now you could use Bain's practices as an objective lesson of what has/will happened to states under Romney and the republicans on a nationwide basis. The reason so many states are bankrupt is because they were "scammed" into investing public funds in the stock market. This is/was neat way to defruad public employees out of the funds in their retirement plans and severance (We're broke because of the market forces), leaving the government to have to cover it. His record of having created only 4,000 jobs in four years as Governor of Massachusetts should be the subject (especially during the GOP primary season). Notice how Gingrich conveniently characterizes Romney as a "moderate" even though he passed a healthcare bill the covers abortion. "Moderate" is a characterization for the general election, as opposed to "liberal."
Why has Ron Paul refused to attck Mitt Romney? The GOP conveniently saved all of the best attacks against Romney for just when the republican has signalled that they are "settling" on Romney.
